MORNING DISTRIBUTION - Mukaniro Christian Fellowship, Bwaniha, Uganda Fellowship of Believers - The Church on Display Pastor Wycliffe wanted to bring together as many denominations as possible to improve the fellowship among believers in this community. As we taught, the crowd grew and grew as we passed out 340 Bibles in three languages. Elizabeth - "My parents are poor..." - What would you do? A young girl, named Elizabeth, nervously asked if she could talk with me. She gave me a folded piece of paper with a handwritten note with her story. Her parents were very poor and her father is an alcoholic. They have told her they cannot pay for her to finish her final year in high school, which is a 30 minute walk from her hut. She wants to finish school so badly that she overcame her shyness to see me. For a girl, a diploma for high school is very important. We talked for a while. Her pastor said she attended church and vouched for her story. What would you have done to help Elizabeth? Christians With Purpose I love the people here who were passionate about God's Word. Every one I talked with had a specific reason for getting a Bible...to share with family, to share in the village, to teach others in church. They were so thankful to receive their first Bible! LATE AFTERNOON - Bwaniha Choice Temple Church, Bwaniha, Uganda Small crowd. Just the sound of cows in the distance. They have waited for about 3 hours for us to come. And the low voices and laughter of mostly men gathered in a large circle under the trees. Village life. Village talk of farm and family. I am loving this place and these people who are so gentle, humble and glad to finally have a Bible. Emmanuel who has been a Christian for 8 years felt "bad" all of those years in church without a Bible. 107 Bibles distributed in three languages to 107 Christians who promised to read their Bible each day.
