April 3, 2020 - African day of prayer "The heart of man plans his way but the LORD establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9 GNB Most countries in Africa have begun draconian lockdown measures. Banning travel in vehicles with few exceptions. Food is being restocked but slowly. Those living hand to mouth are finding it harder and harder to find food or pay for food. The United Bible Societies of Africa, the Baptist Union of Uganda and many other groups representing every country in Africa have called for prayer for Africa on April 3rd. Please consider joining in prayer with the following suggested format: 1) Repentance: Read the whole of Psalm 51 and then go into repentance at individual/personal level, family, nation, Africa as a continent and as a Fellowship. Observe a moment of silence say for 2 minutes before proceeding.
2) Seek God's forgiveness: As in the Lord's prayer (which can be said/recited in full) with particular reference to Matthew 6:12 or Luke 11:4. Also read 1 John 1:8-10. Pray and observe a 2 minutes moment of silence. 3) Plead for Healing of the nation, Africa and the World: Read 2 Chronicles 7:14 and the whole of Psalm 91. Pray and thereafter observe a 2 minutes moment of silence. 4) Thanksgiving: Read Psalm 100. Offer prayers of thanksgiving and thereafter observe a longer moment of silence and listening to God.
