A few weeks ago, many generously gave for those in need in Uganda! AND they are so thankful that you did!! Over 1500 families were given food. Here is a sampling those who received food: - Grace and Thomas parents died of HIV and left them with 9 siblings. They received food for their family of 11. - Mzee Olowa, aged 96, said he slept two nights without food and this distribution was God rescuing him. - Mama Atieno and Mama Martha, aged 76 and 72, said that life was becoming unbearable but now God has given them a life line. "Our church and pastor do extend our sincere appreciation to you for your generosity towards this noble donation. We continue to be together in the Spirit as the Body of Christ praying for one another that God's will be done. God bless you for the sake of His Kingdom." "We the pastors of the association of pastors of Tororo North with great pleasure would like to convey our heartfelt appreciation for the donation of food....It is indeed a great blessing to have food for our stomach as we continue to nurture our spiritual lives. May the great Lord continue to bless you." From Kidera, we "...appreciate...the donation of food...This food will help us reach out to the very needy and hungry members within our reach and church." Mavuneo...This is to appreciate your ministry for the food provided to us by you, at such a time as this when we really needed it. This will go a long way feeding hungry family members." How was the food distributed?
For each area where we distributed Bibles, we contacted all the pastors and asked for the names of those really needing food. From the list of Bible recipients, we selected up to 100 to 150 families per site. The rice or posho was purchased from a seller of grain, who is a member of the Hosannah Bible-Based Community Project. Trucks were loaded with bags of either rice or posho. Each family of four was given 20 to 35 pounds bags to feed them for at least a week). "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done." Proverbs 19:17
