Voices from Bible Distribution and Training - Jan 31 to Feb 10

What do voices sound like that aren’t heard?

• “We do not think our voice goes far from this place. We are very far from the main road. Our voice is very small but hearing the Gospel presented allows our people to hear God’s voice here. You coming here allows our people to be trained and know someone cares about us.”
• “They feel like God is not helping them. They have left their homeland and everything they have. Now they have not enough food. Nobody knows when they will go home. People are still crying. The Gospel brings their only lasting hope.” 
• “When you don’t have a Bible you are like a person living without food.”
• “I have learned how to summarized the Bible in a few hours. It captures many major points. I didn’t think it was possible to do.”
• “Today the Kuman are getting a Bible in their own language. Most have never heard it in their language.”
• “This island receives little bringing good. Witch doctors, alcohol, drugs, and harlots harm the island and I feel the darkness of this place. Two days ago a youth was murder and they celebrated the death. Your message of hope in Christ and a new heaven and a new earth gives me peace at least for an eternal future.” 
  
• "During Kony we lived at times hiding in the grass for our home and once lived under an ant mound. My brother and I ran one night for our lives from child soldiers. My brother did not return.”
  
• "Everyone became angry with God...and then things got worse and they had only one Hope left...that only God would or could offer hope if not in this life then eternally."
  
• “Because of the war, this area has not yet recovered either economically or mentally. It will take years to forget what we saw and lived.”
  
• “Less than 10% of our church members have a Bible. They have little and the cost is beyond them.”
  
• “Without the Gospel to move us to change our focus and turn to God, our people cannot move past these obstacles caused by poverty and lack of education.”

We are bringing the Good News and the people are rejoicing! Praise God for salvation, and pray that his word will go forth from these places.

  • 889 attended training on the importance of Bible and an overview of Christ in Genesis through Revelation 
    
  • 3225 shepherded Bibles were distributed to rural poor, youth and refugees
    
  • 84 denominations attended including evangelical, prosperity Gospel, Catholic and Anglican
    
  • 9 translations of the Bible were distributed in 9 locations: Acholi, Human, Lugandan Diglot, Lugandan, Japadhola, Lusoga, Samia, NKJ, Good News
    

Pray for each leader that they will teach each person receiving a Bible how to use and share it.
